We have been so blessed by so many
people who have volunteered their time to make improvements to
R.O.A.R.S. or just lend a helping hand when needed. You all
are awesome and we do appreciated your time and generous attitude.
Thank you so much!
Rock Party:
We had a rock party ... but not
the kind you would think it was. It was a group of folks that
came to the ranch to pick rocks out of the arena and parking lot!
Thank you Sam and Geri Brooke, Ashley Austin, Rumiana Drumera, The
Arabia Family, The Prichard Family, Lauren Huey, Erik, and The Mount
Family. After we plucked tons of rocks, we sat around and ate
and chatted. It was a nice day for good food and conversation.
Thank you to everyone who came and plucked rocks - we appreciate you
and YOU ROCK! Did I miss your name? Please let me know
so I can add you!
Vacation Crew:
Thank you to Sandy, Ashley and Rumiana for taking care of
the place while we went on our Christmas vacation. All the
horses were happy and healthy when we got back and there wasn't even
one boarder complaint. Yeah! Sandy, what can I say, you
rock ... you were there every night feeding and blanketing and then
wouldn't even accept the agreed upon payment. Looks like
another steak dinner on us (sounds good to me!). Thanks to all
three of you for stepping up and for you too Lisa, for continually
doing your evening rounds and being "on call" in case we needed you.
All you gals are awesome!
Additional thanks to Sam Perez for being our on
call contractor and Brian Goodman for being our on call plumber -
both were willing to come in to help out at the drop of the hat,
thank God we didn't need them. If you need a licensed
contractor give Sam a call at (831) 726-2821 and if you need a
plumber, call Brian at Goodman's Plumbing (831) 726-2216. Both
these men are really good at what they do and both have been really
good to our ranch so repay them by calling them the next time you
need their services.
Arena LIGHTS!:
Sam Perez - YOU-DA-MAN! Sam did some work on the
wiring on the arena lights and they are WORKING! ... well 1/2
of the arena is anyway. Now we have to find the bulbs for the
other 1/2 and see if those work too! Thank you Sam for
troubleshooting this problem and fixing the wire! YOU ROCK!
YIPEE, YAHOO, YEHAW!
Arena:
The middle arena, previously known as the small arena is
finished. Thank you to ... what is her name?
Oh yeah, ELAINE for getting the ground leveled and for putting in
the sprinkler system - how nice it's been not having to drag
sprinklers around! Elaine's dedication to getting this arena
done sure has sped things up - Elaine, you are awesome! Thank
you Sam for supplying the laser leveler and helping us place the
boards and for the use of your handy tools to make the job easier!
and let's not forget a big thank you to Cayman and Emily for
gathering rocks!
Flowers and Landscaping:
A few of our boarders have began a friendly competition to see whose
barn can look the best. Sandy and Amanda, you two are awesome!
Thank you so much for all the flowers in front of the barns, around
the trees, by the snack shack and bathrooms. Everything looks
so much better with the flowers and we still think that one of the
barns would look great with a hot tub in front of it (tee hee).
Sandy gets huge snaps for bringing "Herbie" the
lawnmower to R.O.A.R.S. Sandy is always busy watering lawns,
mowing lawns, cleaning up areas of great need, etc. Thank you
Sandy (and Herbie)!
Equipment:
Thanks you Sam Perez (and Chilly) for
our new Speed Ball cone! It's made to show standard and
finally the Tammypi kids get to practice with a real cone and a real
ball. You outdid yourself with that one!
R.O.A.R.S. Roadkill Cook House:
Marissa thank you for continually
planning and organizing the snack shack so that riders have a place
to grab a quick snack on show day. Thank you Emily and Amanda,
Gramdma Bonnie, Josh Holtzclaw (Baby Dude), Brittany Lovato, Sandy
Crippin, and Cassidy for volunteering your time and helping out the
cafe during show days. Thank you Amanda and Driscoll's for
your berry donations. It's a nice treat for the riders to be
able to have a healthy snack on show days.
Wash Racks:
Goodman Plumbing (831) 726-2216 -
Brian, you are awesome. You just showed up one day and asked
what you could do for the ranch and then you put in that awesome new
faucet for our inside wash rack. Thank you so much the faucet
is great and so impressive!

Sam Perez, thank you for fixing the hot water heater in Barn 2.
It is so awesome to have two working hot water racks!
First Baptist Church (FBC Watsonville):
Thank you FBC for sending us your college group to wash down the
insides of both barns. The kids worked so hard and were so
wonderful to be around. I've never seen a harder working group
of young adults. They came in and scrubbed down both of the
barns and had such wonderful and upbeat attitudes the whole
time. They didn't even need direction, they just did it! It was great to have Christ's light shining in the barn
through these kids and our barns look great!
