Scheduled Horse Shows and Clinics:

There have been several 17's ran on the long barrel course at the Gold Coast Barrel Races.  The ground is getting faster and faster!  Come check it out!  Here's a quote from Edie's email that she sent out on December 10, 2008:

"If you have not been out to the Royal Oaks Arena lately, you need to go have a day of training or exercise there.  Tammy and Rico Pigao now have that ground down to a science and it was excellent.  It reminded me of the February 1994 race we hosted there when we had 209 riders show up.  They all came because that ground was famous for the best in the state at the time.  Guess what - it is now as nice if not better!"

Gold Coast Barrel Racing  Gold Coast has introduced a Future Champion Division to their races and offers different ways to take home the money, including Barrel Bingo.  Edie is a wonderful gal and has put together a great group of folks.  They are open to suggestions to help make this club rewarding and fun for their riders.  Check out their website for more details.

Watsonville Saddlites is a gymkhana club on the central coast of California.  Their club consists of dedicated horse people of all ages that love fun, horses, and friendly competition!  In addition to monthly gymkhanas, they host an Annual Silver Show as well as the gymkhana Fair Night at the Santa Cruz County Fair.  Check out their website for their event calendar.

CGA District 9 Redwood Riders is a District of the California Gymkhana Association (CGA). Their home arena is in Boulder Creek but they sometimes come down off the mountain and run some shows at Royal Oaks.  District 9 is a small club, very friendly and family oriented.  Their September show had 50 riders many who camped over and participated in a spectacular BBQ Potluck.  The food looked like it was out of Better Home and Gardens!  Everyone ate until they couldn't eat anymore and then ate again for some home made vanilla ice cream!  All levels of riders are welcome at their shows.
