From Salinas:
Take Highway 101 North toward Watsonville. Exit on San Miguel
Canyon road. Go to the end of San Miguel Canyon Road (the road
ends at a stop light you have to turn right or left), turn right onto
Tarpey Road. Go approximately 1/4 mile and you will pass the other
half of San Miguel Canyon Road on your left then Maher will be
immediately on your right. Turn right onto Maher, then left into
the Royal Oaks parking lot. Now relax ... and breath ....
From the South Gilroy/San Jose:
Take Highway 101 South toward Watsonville. Exit at San Juan Road.
Go approximately 2.4 miles and turn left on Tarpey Road (there is a turn
lane). Go approximately 1.1 miles and turn left on Maher Road (right
after Royal Oaks Feed Store). Turn left into the first driveway.
*** If you don't want to cross back over Highway 101 to go home you can
reverse the "From Salinas" directions above to go home through Prunedale
(longer route) or you can go through Aromas to Highway 129. To go
through Aromas, turn right out of the ranch, right onto Tarpey to stop
sign. Right onto San Juan Road. Look for Aromas signs and
turn left onto Carpenteria. Continue on Carpenteria until the end
- through the one stopsign in Aromas, over RR tracks .... to Highway
129. Turn right onto Highway 129 and this will take you to Highway
101.
From Santa Cruz:
Take Highway 1 South past Riverside (Watsonville)
Turn left across highway onto Salinas Road (flashing yellow light) drive
1.2 miles to Werner Road (viers off to the right before you go down
hill), go down to stop sign turn right onto Elkhorn Road. Elkhorn turns
into Hall Road - keep going on this road until you pass San Miguel Cyn
Road. Then about 1/4 miles past San Miguel Cyn Road, start looking
for Maher Road on the right . Right onto Maher. Arena is 1st
driveway to the left.
OR
From Hightway 1 South, exit on Riverside Road (Hwy 129).
Go over the overpass and continue through several lights to Main Street.
Turn right on Main Street (puts you onto the Pajaro Bridge). Get
into the left lane immediately so you can make a left turn onto San Juan
Road (while on the bridge still). Continue on San Juan Road to San
Miguel Canyon Road (house with brick fence is your road marker for this
turn). Go to the end of San Miguel Canyon Road (stop sign) and
turn left onto Tarpey then immediate right onto Maher, another immediate
left into ranch.
Parking can be tight during a show. Please
make sure not to block the track area around the parking lot (if
possible because it can be used to warm-up as well as the small arena).
We will allow parking in front of and behind the barns if necessary.
