R.O.A.R.S. 2008 Christmas Party (in
March 2009) |
| |
| Yes, our
First Annual Christmas Party was held
in March 2009. That was the first date that we had open where we
could actually have the party because we went to Texas in December and
got really, really behind on things. And then there's that annual
tax appointment that always takes forever to prepare for! Anyway,
we finally got it planned and had a WONDERFUL Christmas Party with tons
of friends who came to enjoy the food and have fun. The food was
awesome - we could have fed the city of Watsonville with what we had
here! Thank you to everyone who came and to all of you for
bringing such wonderful side dishes! Thank you to Rico for
preparing the meat (we are so lucky to have such a good cook!) and to
Lisa for taking the pictures for us! The day
was planned as a no-ride day because Tammy didn't want to have to get
horses out. So, while we did promote it as a no-ride day, you will
see below that the kids had other plans ... and they RODE AND RODE AND
RODE. |
Awards:
All students were given an airbrushed t-shirt with a picture of their
horse or barrel racer and their name. They all looked awesome in
their new shirts. It was like we were invaded by the airbrushed
shirt club! |

Sandy and Mia were given special
awards and recognition. Sandy for giving us Lollipop who we love
and adore and who has taught so many kids to ride already and Mia for
allowing us to use her pony Clyde in our lesson program. Clyde and
Lolli are definitely ranch favorites and get very spoiled from all the
students they have taught to ride and we are all so grateful to have
them both in our program. Thank you Sandy and Mia! |

Everyone sat around, ate and got to
know each other a little better. Some of the kids hadn't even met
each other so it was nice to get the group together to meet and begin
new friendships. |

And when I had my back turned, the
ponies and horses snuck out of their stalls, put their saddles on and
threw a kid on them! Sneaky, sneaky, equines we have around here! |
